Hi, I’m Tiffany, co-owner and trainer at River Market CrossFit. I’ve always been involved in sports, and finished my collegiate career as the softball Conference Player of the Year and the outdoor track 4×400 meter relay Conference Champion.
I loved the competition and after graduation I spent years searching for something to fill the void. I found myself spending 2 hours in the gym 5 days a week, contemplating fitness and figure competitions, but I was going out of my mind with boredom.
I discovered CrossFit and immediately fell in love with the rush I got from going up against the daily WOD. To me, every WOD is a test, an opportunity to mentally and physically better yourself, and it doesn’t hurt that I’m in the best shape of my life. I love this about CrossFit, but what I love most is that anyone can benefit from the fundamental movements used in CrossFit.
I’ve had the opportunity to spend the past few years working as a physiotherapist at a large chiropractic clinic. Here I worked with people at all fitness levels, ranging from severely deconditioned grandmas to injured high school athletes to new mothers trying to lose the baby weight. In this environment I witness firsthand how CrossFit can be scaled to fit any fitness level, and I know it can change anyone’s life for the better. CrossFit is my passion and I want to share it with anyone who’s willing to try.
When I was in high school I really enjoyed lifting weights but my only goal was to build mass. I didn’t even know what functional strength was. When I joined the Marine Corps I discovered functional strength because my life depended on it. I never knew what the day would bring, whether it be short sprints, heavy lifting or long runs. Not only did I have to cover long distances in a short amount of time, I still needed to have enough gas in my tank to fight when I got there.
What I love most about CrossFit is that it prepares you for the unknown and the unknowable. Today, nothing has changed except for my title. As a Kansas City, MO police officer I never know what a call will bring and I know that CrossFit will help keep me physically prepared for anything that will come my way.
I’m glad I have the opportunity to share CrossFit with others to help prepare them for the unknown.

Hey! I’m Roberto. I started CrossFitting here at River Market CrossFit, and I immediately fell in love. Everyday is different and everyday is challenging. I love that. It keeps things exciting! If you try hard, give your best, and eat right–you will see results. There is a community of people here that want to see you succeed. Your success is our success!
You see, I’ve always had a passion for fitness. As a kid I was always involved in sports and after high school I joined the Marine Corps for 4 years. After I left the Marine Corps, I finished school and found myself in a desk for 80% of the day. I went to the gym regularly and got really strong but I wasn’t “in shape”. I was bored! Then I tried CrossFit. Everything changed for me! I lost weight, got stronger, my stamina and endurance went up, and not to mention, it’s a big time stress reliever!
During the day I work as a graphic designer for an advertising agency. Most evenings I coach CrossFit. I literally cannot wait to come in to teach and share my passion with people who want to better themselves!
I started personal training right after college. It was a natural, almost assumed progression since I had been involved with sports and coaching for so many years. My training influences include functional, holistic practitioner Paul Chek, accomplished strength coach Charles Poliquin and now Greg Glassman, founder of the CrossFit movement. The shift to CrossFit came out of sheer desire for intensity and community.
The combination of CrossFit’s methodology and my background with one-on-one training is a great recipe for training clients of various backgrounds and fitness levels. I also utlilize the Paleo lifestyle to help clients achieve an even higher level of fitness and wellness.
I enjoy the rewards coaching brings and look forward to seeing you at the box!
